It's made from solid mango wood in a warm amber oak finish. My original plan was to place it at the end of our bed, but when it arrived, it felt far too lovely to hide away, so it ended up taking pride of place by the sofa instead!
That said, one of the things I like most about it is how versatile it is. I could look just as good beneath a window, or in a hallway. Ours is sadly far too small for that though, we’re more in the “hop around on one foot while putting our shoes on” camp!
Are you the same as me and drawn to furniture that can move around the house to wherever it's needed?
The nice thing is that, with all that beautiful texture and its solid, hardy feel, I think it’ll look good whatever gets thrown at it. And in this house, that’s definitely a bonus!
Autumn, we’re ready for you!

Such a beautiful table! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for bringing back autumn into my home with a couple of inspiring tips. Autumn: best time of year (as far as I am concerned).
ReplyDeleteIt is such a lovely time of year, really cosy!
DeleteVery handsome and versatile bench/coffee table! Right now all I want to do is crawl into your cozy corner, cuddle up and hibernate for the next few months...
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what I love about it too – it's versatility :) Thank you!
DeleteI love this and also love the fact that you can put it or move it to many places.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love a piece you can move around, as it will always come in handy no matter your life stage!
DeleteOK. I have got to get my fall decorating done! So far a small picture on a living room end table. This time for a few more things to creep in as we are finally finished with the heat blast of summer. I too like furniture that can serve multiple uses. Thank you for sharing! Happy fall! : > )
ReplyDeleteHappy this has got you feeling inspired to decorate for Autumn :)
DeleteInteresting to see furniture made from mango wood. Hadn't thought about it being used for furniture. The warm wood color blends well with the frames on your art. I'm curious how this Finnish company NordLif chose the name Astoria for the coffee table. Astoria is also the name of a small town on the northwest corner of Oregon, USA. In the early 1900’s, Astoria was known as the Helsinki of the West due to the high percentage of Finnish immigrants living there. Many Finns and Finnish-Americans still live in Astoria today. Thanks Niki. Looking forward to autumn. Pirjo
ReplyDeletePoulsbo, WA is affectionately known as 'Little Norway'. Astoria is a one among our favorites!
DeleteSo interesting, I must ask Nordlif about this!
DeleteI love the fluted detail on your new table. The warm color works so well in your sitting room, which looks truly lovely. It feels like a room that improves your day while enjoying a coffee!
ReplyDeleteI would very much like to be adding warm touches of fall and was taken by your wooden bowl of pinecones alongside the lit candle and steaming cup of coffee!
Yes, I love the fluted detail too, it 'makes' the bench / table :)
DeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteAs everyone else, the fluted legs...beautiful shade too. Love the autumny atmosphere at your home, pillow, pine cones and throw...subtle, yes. Over here, 'everything orange' can be a bit overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am so happy you love this bench / table too :)
DeleteThe fluted detailing gives this bench such a timeless look. I love furniture that feels both practical and beautiful. How would you style it, with cushions or keep it simple?
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely addition to your sitting room, Niki! The fluted legs really do give the bench such an elegant, timeless look, and the warm amber oak finish works beautifully with the autumnal tones in the room. I also love how versatile it is — a bench, a coffee table and a reading spot all in one. Such a cosy seasonal update!
