There’s something deeply appealing about a building that’s already lived a life before becoming a home, don't you think? You can feel it here straight away. This was once a working barn in southern Sweden, built for purpose rather than beauty, and yet that original honesty is exactly what makes it so beautiful! Therese and Marcus saw beyond what it was and recognised what it could become, not by erasing its past, but by working with it.

ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh!! I love this home!!! Is it because I grew up on a farm and spent hours playing with kittens in the hayloft?? The beams, the eyebrow window (so cute!!), the bistro chairs and chunky cement (?) table on the patio.....all draw me in. I like the more simple style of furnishings... to me that spells comfort and beauty. Thank you for sharing this lovely home. Happy May Day!! Que tengas unas excelentes vacaciones! : > )

ReplyDeletePreserving original structures can be costly, and not every old building adapts well to modern living Trees Hate You standards. There’s also a balance to strike—lean too far into preservation, and the space might feel outdated or inconvenient; lean too far into renovation, and you lose the very charm that made it special.

The stone walls, spectacular roof, countertop, open shelving, beautiful light fixtures. Furniture lines are similar to those of the windows and beams. One's attention is repeatedly drawn to the great outdoors. Love barn conversions☺
