Men hejsan! They say a picture can speak louder than words and today is one of those days.
Photographer Lacy Hoysradt's childhood home was a fixer upper which she witnessed her parents renovating by hand. And now she and her husband Reed have also caught the bug - and have been very busy doing up their 70s house in Austin, Texas despite their three young children. How have they coped? Lacy explains: "There is a beauty in the process... it's okay if your life and your home are currently under construction." Words to live by as we take a tour of their beautiful home today - and as we start a brand new week!

I love the pile of candles in the fireplace, haphazard, some falling over. A very homey touch without adding any heat in a hot Texas location!

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful home. I considered the same rug they have in the living room for my own. I can't remember why I eventually decided against it - I think because it did not come in the size I was looking for, but it one of the "finalists".
ReplyDeleteQuite a masculine vibe. I like the candles in the fireplace too. Is that a basic cuckoo clock in the breakfast nook?
ReplyDeleteI love the natural muted palette and mix of materials; the candles in the expansive brick fireplace - perhaps they are battery operated having many children and pets (I scooted over to her Instagram) - along with the scrolled iron screen for added interest. The harlequin and herringbone clay tile flooring fits right in with the wood planking. I'm always a softy for neutral kitchen colors. She's created such a warm and cozy place, even though it appears to have a lot of square footage, which is difficult to achieve, sometimes.
