Are you planning on visiting Norway anytime soon? If so the beautiful west coast city of Bergen is a must - and I have just the place for you to stay! Located on one of Bergen's pretty narrow lanes which lead down to the waterfront, this historic three storey townhouse dates back to the 18th century and has been beautifully restored by Canadian-Bergen architect Todd Saunders. Airbnb guests are invited to relax in the open-plan, light-filled rooms, pad around on douglas spruce wood floors and enjoy the simple, predominantly white interior which is peppered with design pieces and this season's 'new neutral' tones. Sounds like my kind of holiday rental - how about you?! Let's take a peek!
What do you reckon? Could you imagine hanging out here for a few days?!
Funnily enough I'll be in Norway in a few weeks time since I'm holding a talk about Scandinavian design on a cruise ship (an all time first!). Perhaps I should jump ship for a few days and head down to Bergen? It's been years since I was there and now I have somewhere pretty to stay too!
Meet you there?!
If you're after a little more Norwegian inspiration today you must check out the cosy and relaxed home of a Norwegian blogger, a beautifully serene Norwegian space and a charming Norwegian home in green, grey and cognac.
Thank you so much to my blog friend Katarina Dima for discovering this little pearl of a holiday home!
Have a fabulous day all!

You would be very welcome to Bergen! I live in one of these old houses myself (much newer than this one, though), and I love what they have done with this house. No surprise, I usually love what Todd Suanders does. My plan to sand back our one original door has become even stronger since seeing this. It makes such a difference. Love the kitchen, too.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to live in one of these old houses Rita! I'm sure yours is equally lovely! If I visit, I'll be sure to let you know so we can have a coffee :)
DeleteHaha, well, mine can't compete with one renovated by Todd Saunders... All I have done so far is paint three wall and the stairs. But, I have lots of plans, of course, and in the meantime I am collecting inspiration from places like this. Ours looks fine as it is, there is just not much of the personality of the old house showing through. So sanding back a door, exposing one of the beautiful old wooden walls, that kind of thing. Maybe get my friend who has worked for Todd Saunders to give some more advice.... And yes to coffee!
DeleteIt sounds like I’m going to need to see some pictures of your home once it’s finished - it sounds wonderful! No harm in chatting to your friend at Todd Saunders too!!
DeleteI reckon I could hang out here for sure. My problem would be that I wouldn't want to leave! It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd have the same problem Kristie!
DeleteGreat interiors! I love this combination of colors, I wonder about something like that myself. These doors look quite interesting and do not take up much space :)
ReplyDeleteThe door in the bedroom you mean? It looks like a very tight entryway - but the beautiful door more than makes up for it! :)
DeleteAny idea where the lovely artwork in the bedroom is from? Love to see it up closer . Thanks for another lovely tour.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid not Natalie. I love it too. You could try writing to Todd Saunders?
