Hej! Hope you had a a lovely weekend? My family and I went on a trip to Söderåsen nature reserve. The trees all looked like they were on fire in shimmering shades of gold and red. aaaa, so beautiful. Today's inspiration comes from the Danish home of Yvonne Koné photographed by Line T Klein and styled by Stine Langvad for Elle Decoration DK. It has been deliberately photographed to show a beautiful black and white starkness, however in real life form I like to believe it has some soft, cosy blankets and warm lighting and a slow-cooked stew bubbling away on the stove.

Looking at the immaculate nature of the home (and most homes shown on here) it begs the question - are people really as tidy as this?! I had a chat with some friends about this the other day and we all concluded that our biggest 'untidy habit' , shamefully, was dropping our clothes on the bedroom floor at the end of the day. I know I'm doing it because I think 'I really should hang this up....but!' Eeek! Do you have a messy habit you can't shake?!
Oh and..today is the last day to enter the Pappelina rug give-away. We'll be anncouncing the winner here and on Facebook & Twitter tomorrow at 16.00....there have been so many great entries I wish you could all win!
I didn't think I would like this as much as I do but I LOVE it! Personally, I would add softer touches but it is so sophisticated and freakishly neat! I have a habit of hanging my clothes from the day on the bottom of the bed (over the railings) which is worse than dumping them on the floor because it means I can ignore them for longer!
ReplyDeleteHi Niki - I love the simplicity of this house and the contrasts black & white. I am trying and I would like to simplifie my decoration, but I cannot do it. I have such a lot of things, that I love, that remember me something in my life, that I cannot put them away....Have a great week, hug Barbara
ReplyDeleteI really love the auxiliary storage in the dining room, and that kitchen, and the simplicity of the living room! The wall-cabinet in the bedroom is reading a little too "doctor's office" to me, but other than that I just love the whole home! I try to be as tidy as this, surprisingly! It makes me feel better when there isn't any clutter.
ReplyDeleteThese homes are so beautiful to look at BUT I can't imagine that the homes look like this all the time. Life can be messy and that spills over into just about everything, including your home, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat ceiling medallion is gorgeous. I can't say I'm super tidy. But, when things get very messy, I have to stop and clean up, otherwise I can't function in a space when it's a mess.
ReplyDeleteLine T Klein takes such beautiful snaps. Even though I'd like a touch more colour in this space, I can still appreciate it's beauty and that has to be down to the lovely photographs. Happy Monday, Niki!
ReplyDeletei suppose some people could be this tidy!! i'm only this tidy when i have company coming over or throwing a little party... though tidiness like this feels so serene... love the photos and love the home!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, clean and crisp! That's what we Swedes do best. Great selection of images.
