White and colour pops in Malmö's boho district

As I said in Tuesday's post, sometimes you don't need to look further than some of the Swedish estate agent websites for some fabulous interior design inspiration. This white apartment is for sale through Malmö agent Bo-laget and is in the bohemian / arty district of Möllevång. I love how the owners have used white on the walls and floors as a blank canvas and brought the home to life through colourful wallpapers and textiles.

Bo-laget
I love completely white but I know it's not to everyone's taste - the jury's always out on this! In Sweden it's super popular at the moment and it's the perfect way to create a light home. When I lived in Edinburgh as a student it was popular for every room to be painted a different colour such as deep blue, dark red and yellow. I loved that look too and it suited the environment.

What about where you live?

  1. interior is so simple and yet they achieve such a fantastic feel of space and light, love it :)

here in UK daylight is a precious thing :) but seem to me people love darker tones and richer solutions, funny enough magnolia is still by far the most popular shade of paint in British houses and white is consider "brave"

I am happy that Scandinavian style is so influential right now, I love it since my early drawing course years, its simplicity and connection to nature is poetic

  6. Nice pics! According to the many Swedish real estate agents pictures of objects for sale, it looks like the swedes really has the most stylish and beautiful homes in the world..I have not seen anything like it! Or perhaps I haven't just looked up other countries agent photographs..in my country Finland the only a small percent of the objects for sale look like this.

  7. The design looks innocent and so breathable. It may look plain to some, but this is elegance in its simplest form. And white is very hard to maintain, but it depends on how an individual can preserve the beauty and pureness of a white-themed interior design.
