I love discovering a space that offers something a little bit different - especially in the kitchen, don't you? French pair Bertille and Lionel requested the help of interior designers Royal Roulotte (remember this lovely home tour?!) to help create a modern, new feel in the heart of their home in Montreuil. The result is this fab kitchen / diner made from IKEA base cabinets combined with rough particle board wall cabinets and shelving, antique furniture, filament bulbs, beautiful tiles and mix and match Formica chairs (source similar here). Let's take a peek...

What a great kitchen - I love the idea of the little dining area behind the kitchen island and those tiles are wonderful (does anyone know where to source these?)!
Is there anything that stands out to you?
If you're after more kitchen inspiration today you might want to check out the entire archive here (warning, there are loads, so you might just want to pour a coffee first!). Or if it's more plywood / particle board inspiration you're after - I have an archive for that too! (if this home comes up first just scroll past it).
Have a lovely day!
PS Thank you so much to Luxury London for including me in your top four interior bloggers! I see I'm in amazing company too, what an honour!

The floor tiles are beautiful but the rest is definitely not my style. In fact, style is totally lacking here. Raw plywood and terrible cabinets do not do it for me. But I do love those floor tiles.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has different tastes - which makes interiors so fascinating and wonderful! Personally I love the cabinets, I think they're very cool, but I understand they're not for everyone :)
DeleteI'm pretty sure the tiles are Moroccan; if you do a basic Internet search, you'll turn up many tiles that look just like them. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI would love some Moroccan/Spanish style patterned tiles for my garden. If you do find some links online to tiles suitable for use outside, please could you share them. I am drawing a bit of a blank. Thank you. Love the blog as always.
DeleteTiles are to die for! Love that kitchen with the eclectic tile and the white brick wall.
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they?! I love them too.
DeleteYour kitchen cabinet look awesome and gives a vintage look. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI wish they were mine but sadly they're not - I agree that they're awesome though :)
DeleteI love that there are actual chair-height chairs drawn up to the tables behind the island. It's just personal taste, but I don't like bar stools. Maybe because I'm afraid I'll fall off...
ReplyDeleteI thought that was an inspiring idea too - I wouldn't have thought of tucking in a table there but it's a perfect spot for breakfast and a newspaper etc!
DeleteI saw the same tiles at Saltillo Imports Inc. in Toronto last week; but the best cement tiles can be found at Mettro Source (also in Toronto). Their website is www.mettro.ca - they offer an incredible selection of tiles.
