The Brooklyn home and studio of a set designer

I was browsing my usual favourite blogs this afternoon when I came across a post by wonderful French blog Merchant Design showing the stunning home of set designer Johanna Burke. The Brooklyn apartment has the most incredible light (such a contrast to the dark, grey day here in Sweden!) and I love the relaxed feel. I just had to share it with you. What do you think?

beautiful home with eclectic vintage designer furniture

despite the sombre tone I think this house is fab. I absolutely love the wooden floor, the beams and the mixed match furniture. And the Eames chairs, ooooh the Eames chairs. I think I *need* a yellow one! Lauritz is an excellent source for original vintage Eames chairs like these.

I am definitely in need of an extra strong coffee this morning as my littlest girl is starting nursery today and I am off to join her and her group for an hour! I'll need to look at lots of pretty home inspiration this morning to restore myself this afternoon! See you in a bit.

Have a lovely reflective weekend!

This picture is so beautiful. It inspires me to hang my vintage-style lace wedding dress somewhere in my home.  If only I had a wonderful mirror like this!

Sadly I have no idea where this picture comes from. I found it on Pinterest (click logo to the right of this page). If you know I'd love it if you could leave a comment!

Have a lovely couple of days and see you Monday!

Industrial 1920s warehouse with vintage finds

Happy Friday! Here in Sweden it's a bank holiday. YAAAY! But I am still thinking about work as I love this 1920's warehouse in Hackney, London, which is available to hire for shoots, exhibitions, parties etc through JJ Locations. OK, it's very minimalistic but could you imagine padding around here for the day with a production team? I particularly like the contrast between the dainty antique chairs and the vast industrial backdrop.
