The beautiful home of a Swedish interior stylist

Well hello there! I woke up to big claps of thunder in southern sweden today and it's been pouring all morning (is it the same where you are?). I'm sitting at my desk in my slippers with a big cup of coffee, soooo cosy - don't you love the occasional day of summer rain? I'm feeling so inspired by Swedish interior stylist Pella Hedeby's new home today (take a peek at her previous home here). I kind of knew she'd do something wonderful when she announced she was moving. I love the white wood panels, monochrome and wood theme,  plus all her fab DIY ideas - you only have to look at that hanging daybed in her garden to know....let's take a tour...

Pella Hedeby / official page shared with kind permission.

So lovely don't you think? I love how she's mixed monchrome with natural materials such as wood and rattan throughout.

Other items I love: Baskets - used for magazines, blankets, the post, just about everything. Kitchen: wishbone chairs and sheepskins. The Kinfolk Table. Sitting room: Le Grand Air sofa, Himla cushion, coffee table, Bestlite wall lamp, Apotheke candle.

In the bedroom, Pella has used a bench as a bedside table, this beautiful one is similar. The IKEA Ärod lamp on the bedroom side-table has been spray painted it black. Pella says it's really easy - just hide the cables and chrome section with tape and give it a spray. It looks fab! I might try that with some of my lamps?

Is thre anything that stands out to you?

More beautiful black and white spaces in my archive here (scroll passed the first home as it will most likely be this one)!

Have a lovely day!

A dreamy space in Santorini

Mondays are made for dreaming aren't they? And, be still my beating heart...I've just found a little touch of paradise that will keep us all dreaming all week!  Photographer Sara Medina Lind has just visited Santorini (now top on my list!) and stayed a couple of night at Sophia Suites. Thankfully for us she got out her camera and captured breath-taking vistas from the magnificent rooftop (complete with lush pool), serene white interior and beautiful designer pieces within. Could you imagine spending a few days here?!

Simple stunning! That view!

We can't all have magnificent rooftop pools overlooking the mediterranean.....

.....but we can certainly steal ideas (after all - if it weren't for the rounded stone walls the interior could almost be Scandinavian right?).

I spy:  Black rattan hanging chair / Lounge chair and ottoman / Carl Hansen CH07 shell chair / Z1 pendant light - black sisalPlywood group LCW chair.

Other fabulous hotels for a whole load more of Monday morning dreaming: a little piece of paradise in the philippines, and a magnificent seaside design hotel on Mykonos.

Have a wonderful, dreamy start to the week!

PS The voting is now open for the Amara International blog awards and I've been selected to be in the running for category 'Best European Interiors Blog' so exciting!!  If you'd like to vote for me and make my day you can do so here - it only takes a second, I promise!

Life at a Danish allotment cabin in summer

Hello Friday! How lovely to see you! I'm so looking forward to the weekend, how about you? What's fascinating about this lovely Danish weekend 'allotment' cabin is that photographer Stuart McIntyre and stylist Katrine Martensen-Larsen have not only captured the lovely, relaxed home with all it's mix & match furniture and accessories, but also the idyllic life at the home itself. In this Danish family weekends are all about relaxing, playing games, bathing alfresco, and making plum jam from scratch in the outdoor kitchen.  What a great way to wile away a weekend wouldn't you say?

Photographer: Stuart McIntyre. Stylist: Katrine Martensen-Larsen / KML Design - with kind permission

What a lovely, relaxed home!

You can see a little more of it here if you'd like.

I've featured several other Swedish allotment homes on here before (including this one and this one - beautiful!) but never a Danish one so I'm very excited about today's post - sending big love to Katrine for so graciously letting me share the pictures.

If you're inspired to make your own plum jam this weekend, I'm loving this uber simple two ingredient plum jam recipe. Ooooo how I'd love some on my toast today!

Or if it's the cabin you're after I'm loving this dutch cabin in the woods, and a boat house on the baltic - both available to rent!

Have a fabulous weekend - see you Monday!
