The transformation of the Swedish space with blue doors

Hello! For the second time this week, a home has re-appeared into the blogosphere like magic (the first was the Swedish island hide-away). This time it comes in the form of Swedish stylist Johanna Bradford's former home in Gothenburg - featured here back in 2012. It's fun to see how the interior has transformed - moving from a relaxed look with bright splashes of colour to a modern blend of light wood, white and cognac. I love how the floors are a mix of white gloss, light wood and dramatic black too! But most excitingly of all, those signature blue doors remain intact! Got to love them?!

Wow! What a space?! So full of character and charm! And so many ideas to steal (for example I love the idea of storing white candles in a simple brown paper bag).

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Items I know and love: sitting room - house doctor molecular light, Beni Ourain rug, cognac leather pouf, Butterfly chair, My Guide to Bombay print. Bedroom: Hay polygon quilt in powder, grey linen bedding. Kitchen / dining: Marshall speakers, this fab industrial pendant lamp from the 1950's is similar to the one over the kitchen table (try this one too).

The clothes rail (anyone know where it's from?) and the fact that my new sneakers have just arrived in the post (love them, soooooo comfy!) have got me thinking about fashion blogs / instagram today -  do you have a favourite? Lately I've been loving Happily Grey - Mary has such a beautifully simple style and the photography is stunning!

Have a lovely day!

PS In Scandinavia they looooove liquorice - I've never been such a fan have you? BUT I have to say I received a surprise package in the post from Lakrids by Johan Bulow Danish purveyor of 'the world's best liquorice'. And you'll never believe what happened?! Yup. I loved it. It was coated in yummy chocolate and beautifully packaged, which always helps of course!

A bright and cheerful Dutch family home

Oh do I have a refreshingly bright, cheerful family home to share with you today. Located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Lenneke and Joey's charming townhouse is like a little ray of sunshine (much needed on a grey morning in Southerm Sweden I must say!). The pair decorated the home from scratch using several bucket loads of white paint, cheerful second hand pieces and a lorry load of love and patience. The result is a lovely, warm home with a unique signature style.

Photography: Jansje Klazinga, Styling: Emmy van Dantzig.  Shared with kind permission.

Such a lovely space don't you think? I always think The Dutch have a wonderful knack for injecting colour into a home, and this family has proved it once again!

Items in Lenneke and Joey's home I know and love: Dining - Eames chairs, gold / kilim cushions, Tripp Trapp children's chair. Sitting room - Beni ourain rug, this beautiful black vintage scissor lamp is similar, pick up a vintage industrial stool here. Hallway - rustic bench, panama hat, Swedish Kånken rucksack, little yellow and white children's boots. Bedroom - pink linen bedding, lovely throw with pom poms (also seen in this fab bedroom).

You can see more pics of this charming home over at VT Wonen here.

Jansje came to photograph my home a few years ago and it was such a fun, memorable day! Here are some more homes she's captured and I've featured: Valentina Fussell's lovely Copenhagen home, a Dutch home in a former kindergaten, and a home in The Netherlands with red floors (you'll be pleasantly surprised!).

And finally - black bedding? Why not! (This set is on sale.... just saying!).
