Fab affordable limited edition art for your walls

I'm always on the look out for original art for my walls, but it's not always affordable. Do you find the same? If so, you'll love L'Affiche Moderne, a French online gallery presenting the works of young photographers and illustrators for both adults and kids (because you're never too young to become an art collector right?!). All the prints are digitally printed on high quality paper (or satin canvas) and are strictly limited to 300 editions for each format (one small and one large) and come with a certificate of authenticity. And here's the thing - they're affordable too! What's not to love? Here are a few of my favourites....

1. Volcano, Iceland by Manuel Bardoux, Trois Moineaux, Hokkaido by Ludmila Espiaube, Aggregate by Yuji Otsuki 2. Rabbits and Stripes by Caroline Morin 3. Inside Mademoiselle by Wilona Swann 4. GO by Kentaro Minoura 5. Jungle and Rivière by Simon Bailly 6. Beautiful Rain by Kentaro Minoura

Do you have a favourite?

I think mine is Cerulean Dream (I have a bit of thing for seascapes!).

There are many more delightful limited edition prints available at L’Affiche Moderne. Although we'd all better hurry, once they're out they're out!

Oh and if you're an artist, L’Affiche Moderne is always on the look out for new talent and welcome submissions. If it's original, of good artistic quality and they like it, you could see it added to the gallery!

This post is sponsored by L’Affiche Moderne. However, all words are my own. I only ever collaborate with partners that I love and which I think you'll love too. Thank you for supporting the partners which make My Scandinavian Home possible.

My home: new Mapiful print

I love to be surrounded by meaningful prints (you only have to see the gallery in our sitting room). That's why I got totally over excited about Mapiful - a website allowing you to create your own map print featuring anywhere in the world. I tell you, it was difficult to tear me away!  I considered a few places such as the nostalgic London borough I grew up in, and the romantic Swedish west coast village where my Swedish husband and I met. But I finally settled on one of my favourite cities in the world - Copenhagen. The Mapiful print now takes pride of place in our open-plan living space...and serves as a great reminder that the fab danish capital is just a short hop over 'the bridge' or sail across the Öresund, waiting to be explored! Here are a few pics of my map....

So happy with it! What do you think?

If you fancy creating your own map print,  the wonderful guys at Mapiful are offering all My Scandinavian Home readers a 10 USD discount with the code 'SCANDHOME' (plus free shipping worldwide!).

Where would you choose?

Make sure you share a pic of your print on Instagram with the hashtag #mapiful, I'd love to see it!

A quick guide on where all the other items are from: personalised map print Mapiful /shorebird / Frame 20 box - By Lassen / mid-century drinks trolley - vintage / Guiana Chestnut plant / E27 suspension light / Hektar light / 'Coexistence' by Stephen Gill.

Have a fab weekend!

Bold and beautiful wall murals by Anewall

Hello there! I don't often post on weekends but after our discussion around Karen's home on Friday, I had to stop by and tell you about Anewall. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Anewall prints vintage art, iluustrations and photography and specialise in large prints including wall murals that are printed in house. I absolutely love their self adhesive banana leaf wallpaper, watercolour mural, and map of vancouver. All I need to do now is clear a large wall....

All photos: Anewall

I see they also offer a customised service - meaning you can turn your own photos, favourite quotes, or personal design into a wall decal. Oooo, interesting.

I was in a Danish home recently and they had a black and white wall mural of their three boys wading out to see - it was so personal and such a lovely way to bring a seascape inside, I've been thinking about it ever since.

Do you have a photo or design in mind?

The amazing guys at Anewall sponsored me to write this post - and for me it was a no brainer since I absolutely love what these guys are doing and really wanted to share their work with you! Thank you for supporting my sponsors who make this blog happen.

Happy weekend!

Fabulous wall art inspiration

Today I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland for my sister's hen do. I love this city as it's also where I went to university a few years back. So much fun to be with the girls! I thought I'd stop in to share this wonderful summery image from Urban Outfitters and to wish you a very happy weekend!

Saturday wall space inspiration

Hello Saturday. A rare weekend post from me! For some reason I was wide awake early this morning which was a real luxury as the house was so quiet! So I made myself a big cup of fresh coffee on the stove and had a little play on Pinterest (of course!). Here's my Saturday morning find. A very cool print by one of my favourite Swedish designers Therese Sennerholt.

I recently came across this fab store The Print Atelier too which is great for photographic art. I'm on it!

Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday!

PS Don't forget to enter the give-away....

Light wood, white walls and a touch of vintage

Hello! Thank you for your lovely comments yesterday on my bedroom. It's always nerve racking to post pics of my own home so I'm really grateful for your positive feedback and helpful tips :) Today's home comes from the Swedish estate agent Alvhem. My favourite features (apart from the beautiful Scandinavian blond wood and white walls of course) is the mix of modern and vintage furniture and the incredible statement wallpaper!

Alvhem
Are you a wallpaper person?

PS I love that they have thrown in a dark green chair into the mix of white chairs around the dining table. perhaps I should do this with my dining room? For the mix I see they've used an Eames DSR chair (15% off with code MYSCAN), the URBAN chair from IKEA and then flea market finds. Quite simple to achieve yet it looks so great no?

Have a lovely day!

A relaxed family home in Gothenburg

Hej hej and happy Friday! The week has flown by! Here on My Scandinavian Home it's been a week of relaxed, bohemian homes hasn't it? It wasn't planned, it just happened seemed to happen that way. This Gothenburg home belongs to Nanna and her family and I feel it fits in perfectly! Nanna writes a lovely blog called 'Så fint Jag vill' ('As nice as I want') which is full of really wonderful photography documenting her days on maternity leave at home, it's definitely worth heading over and taking a look. Here are a few snaps from her lovely blog.

I love the art wall, it reminds me very much of my own one in fact. And also the wallpaper in the kitchen dining area. It makes me wonder if we should change our blackboard wall for wallpaper.....shhh don't tell my husband he'll go nuts! You can see a complete interview with Nanna and more pictures here.

Before I head off for the weekend I wanted to share some fab links with you from around the web.

If you like vintage Nordic...errr hello....you'll like this home.

Speaking of homes (always) my home was featured in a guest post over at Like Want Need last week. it was the first time I've shown a home tour of my own home so I was a little nervous!

This weekend I have my eye on these fab new cushions at LET LIV, the thing is, which to choose?!

I recently won a fab and cosy Dot Grey Merino Blanket in a give-away at Vosges Paris and now I see they are giving away another cosy blanket here. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

And finally, If you're thinking of brightening your home up with some pretty flowers this weekend, how about Quince?

Have a wonderful weekend all, up to anything fun?

Perfect home displays, the Danish way

These wonderful images of Jo's (of Danish jewellery brand Line and Jo)'s home shot by Line Klein are a lesson in how to display all of those personal items which are way to fabulous to stow away in the bottom of a wardrobe somewhere  (and lets face it, provides another excuse to buy more shoes.....as if we needed one?!).

Mirror, mirror on the wall

It's the weekend, yay! And two exciting things today - firstly, a friend sent me a link to this beautiful loft for sale in Malmö, Southern Sweden through Erik Olsson (again). She thought it would be right up my street with the white walls and floor and the touches of natural wood and the mirrors (oh it is, Malin, it is!). I love the way the mirrors bounce light around the home and create a feeling of space, beautiful! Such great inspiration for the weekend!  What do you think? And the second exciting bit of news is......

Erik Olsson

.......I have a wonderful new sponsor - fab online shop LET LIV in New Zealand. I absolutely love everything they sell and currently have my eye on a Jaipur quilt. It's definitely worth popping over to their shop and having a mooch! They automatically ship to New Zealand and Australia and can ship worldwide on request you just need to send an e-mail to info@letliv.co.nz - yay!

Have an absolutely lovely weekend guys, and see you Monday! x
