A Stay Here with a Book?

Do you ever travel alone? I'm currently in Aarhus - Denmark's second largest city, for a few days by myself to write a guide. To my surprise, I'm enjoying it. Firstly, it helps that the city is beautiful and the sun is shining. Secondly I am free to do whatever I like, when I like - heaven! It's got me thinking about other places I could imagine travelling to alone, and Camellas Lloret is one of them. I featured this beautiful maison d'hôtes in the Languedoc region of France many moons again. They've since put in a small pool, so I felt it was time to revisit (any excuse as I dream of this place on a regular basis!). I hope you enjoy the pictures - perhaps we'll meet here one day!

Can you see why I long to visit?

In my mind I'm already sitting pool side with a book!

Find out more about Camilles Lloret here.

Right friends, I'd better head off and explore the city of Aarhus, an exciting day lies ahead!

Stor kram!

  1. I am just back from my first solo trip! Till now I've been always travelling with my son/ friends and or partner. I spent one week in Osterlen, Skåne, because Scandinavia is one of my fav places in the world... and i visited places that I knew because it's some years reading your blog. I enjoyed it soooooo much!! Tack så mycket!

  2. I travelled by myself for 3 months in 2006 at 35 (between jobs, a trip to reset and figure out what to do next) and loved almost every moment of it. Admittedly, too long to travel alone so I had some tough moments, but I learned a lot about myself during that trip. I haven't done it since as I now travel with my dad, but he is getting up there in age and will not be able to travel as much so I'll resurrect my love of solo travel soon again. This place would be perfect!

  3. A weekend of traveling alone sounds wonderful. I got married in my mid-30s, so I spent many years living alone--I greatly enjoyed living by myself, but I suspect it's not the same thing as traveling sans partner. I've traveled alone for the purpose of attending conferences, but I don't think I've ever had a solo trip purely for pleasure. You've posted a place that looks like a great option for the single traveler. Great places to read, nap, and enjoy a tasty beverage.
