Good morning! How are you today?! I love a home with some great ideas to steal, don't you? And this space has quite a few! Captured by Erik Lefvander and styled by Anna MÃ¥rselius, the property belongs to Swedish architect Johnny Andersson of Jordens Arkitekter and has been decorated throughout in a soft, neutral palette. Magnificent black framed windows separate the kitchen from the open plan sitting room and dining area (still trying to figure out where to install some in my own home, how about you?!). But what really catches my eye are the details - like the beautiful matt finish, hand cut subway tiles in the kitchen (aren't they lovely?!), the rack of jeans (great idea!) and the portrait over the bed - all working together to give the home a relaxed, soft, edge.
Sooooo calm. Just what I needed today!
Get the look from Johnny's lovely home: Ann Sacks sells tiles like these, there's a beautiful selection of vintage chopping boards available here. Wooden coat rack. Linen pillows in earthy shades.
I remember we saw a rack of jeans in this idyllic Finnish cottage too - such a nice way to store them. You could do the same with vintage kimonos in the bedroom?
Do you keep any of your clothes on display?

Have a lovely day!

We have open closets in our beach house to prevent dampness and we love it! Used galvanized plumbing pipes and hung from ceiling for a rustic and industrial look- inexpensive & functional
ReplyDeleteWow, they sound amazing! What a great idea!

I agree, the design's lovely, the perfect blend!
DeleteSo beautiful. The white candleholder looks like something Ikea should make, beautiful design.
ReplyDeleteI don't hang my clothes in the open but I have space behind the bedroom door where a similar coat would fit rather nicely. Hmmmmm....
Last night, I finished spray-painting an old floor lamp black (not quite as glamorous as the one featured here but still one that I like) - it was quite a task, because the weather is already quite cold and when I get home from work it's almost completely dark.
Your floor lamp sounds great! Must send over a pic once it's dry and in action. I know that feeling of short days right now - I'm holding onto the thought that in just 21 days it will start to turn again!
DeleteThis home is really beautiful. I like so much the soft colours that create a atmosphere of serenity.
