Give-away! Win a fabulous fouta

Since spring is officially in the air (here in Europe at least!) I have teamed up with Fouta De Val to offer you the chance to win a fabulous fouta. Fouta's are made in Tunisia from 100% woven cotton using traditional techniques. They measure 190 cm x 100 cm and are so versatile they can be used as a pretty tablecloth in the garden, a cool bed spread, a light towel for days out in the archepelego or a scarf for cool summer evenings. Choose from a whole range of spring colours or stripes or mix and match for a unique style. I'm sure you'll love foutas as much as I do!

The company has such great ethics too - foutas are more and more rare and out competed by mass-produced varieties of poor quality. By purchasing a Fouta de Val you're supporting the local craft tradition in Tunisia and the livelihood of many local crafts men and women. In addition Foute de Val pays a contribution to Sweden's Save The Children organisation for each piece from the Mahdia and Carthage range sold. We like!

To win a fouta all you need to do is:

- Visit the Fouta De Val home page and choose your favourite fouta
- Leave a comment below stating which fouta you would most like to win and why

This competition is open to everyone, where ever you are! Please be sure to enter by Midnight GMT Sunday 2nd June 2013 so you don't miss out. The winner will be announced here on Tuesday 4th June. Spread the word! :)

I'm following my scandinavian home for several months and it was my main inspiration during decorating my new apartment where I live with my husband and 3-years old daughter. I love scandinavian design and all my interiors are almost finished. However, our bedroom is still plain and I'm looking for inspiration for decorating with colour. I think that minty Medina - mintgrön would suit it perfectly! Thank you for all marvelous posts and greetings from Poland!

  5. Hi. :) I'd love to win the Izza in marine blue. It would look amazing in my scandinavian inspired apartment and it definitely would keep me and my little adorable Maltese dog warm in a freaky weather like it's in Poland now. I've never heard of foutas and would love to own one. And by the way - I absolutely love the fact that Fouta De Val is so involved in helping the world. More companies should do that!

  9. My girlfriend and I just moved in together in a small but cosy apartment. We frequently visit this website in search of some inspiration. Since it's still chilly here in Belgium this spring/summer, I'd be awesome to win a "Sahara - senapsgul" Fouta to keep us warm at evenings and nights (especially since the heating isn't working properly yet).

  27. I had been told about the Fouta by a friend who lived in Tunisia for some years and raved about it, but I had some difficulty "seeing" the concept (shawl/table runner/bed throw - all purpose beautiful piece of fabric that she described).
I can now understand it. They look sophisticated yet understated. Clean and minimalist, with ethnic influences yet incredibly modern. I am drooling for half of them, but my absolute favourite is the Amina in grey.
I tend to go for dark, somber colours in clothing, in design I find myself attracted to all shades of grey and the subtle pattern in the grey Amina just makes me ... happy.

  84. hi!
I would love the Amina in grey. I'd use it for the beach in summer, but I think that the colour and the woven herringbone pattern makes it a classic and thus etremely versatile and usable almost all year round. I can imagine it used as a tablecoth, over a monochrome bedspread or as a throw on my couch. The possibilities are endless and given the good quality, I could have it for years without getting bored...
    lucky me if I win!
