I have seen thousands of Scandinavian cabins in my two decades of living here (some in person, many online!), and while each one is unique, they usually share a few themes: heirlooms and second-hand finds, or traditional pieces that reflect a relaxed, down-to-earth lifestyle, and colour palettes that mirror their surroundings with touches of coastal blue or countryside green. Not this one. And that’s exactly why it caught my eye.
So cool and different!
But the big question is - can you guess what's inside the beehive? I'll share the answer (and a picture) later this week. Oooooh, the suspense!
Is there anything that you loved about this danish cabin? Could you imagine spending your summer here?
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the virtual trip to the coast of Denmark!

Wow, there are so many things to notice here. The overall vibe is clean, but warm. Normally I wouldn't care for animal print furniture, but I like it here. Lots of repeated color and pattern elements (black and cream checks, tan and cream stripes). As always, I love the quirky touches--the fish pitcher (or is it a teapot?), the cow on the table, the pottery. I'm puzzled as to what the chair is doing in the hallway leading to the bedroom--is there a desk there? Very fun post today!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful and as I’ve lived in many places like your recent Welsh cottage, and I can see the charm, I would choose this every time. I hope the beehive is going to be a one person library.
ReplyDeleteThe sofa the sofa!! fantastically decorated space
ReplyDeleteLove this home! It is my style, clean lines and no clutter, still with strong traditional vibes present, paired with a touch of modernism. I'm not usually into the use of pattern, but here it looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing this home.

DeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE‼️‼️‼️‼️
ReplyDeleteI am often drawn to the more rustic homes, but this more modern cabin interpretation is lovely too. I am a bit of a clutter bug, so maybe what I really love is the fact that each home is always so tidy! It seems when viewing this home from the outside that the ceilings would be low, but that is not the case at all. The decor flows together so nicely. The more traditional bathroom fixtures are right at home here. I am thinking the interesting beehive might be a little sauna and the tub beside it a small plunge pool. Whatever they are, they look very cool!! I do love the idea of the beehive being a little library!!!!! : > )
ReplyDeleteI think the beehive is a sauna or bastu!
ReplyDeleteI’m in love with all the French doors and the calming, glowing colors. I could definitely s-end a week or two here relaxing!!
ReplyDeleteThis is perfection to me!!! Love it all, down to the last detail.
ReplyDeletePerfection
ReplyDeleteSunlit and airy space with windows and doors all around, loved the stainless steel kitchen, light fixtures, linen, rugs, bamboo screen in the bath, floors and deck area! Curious about the roof and walls- painted logs or something else? Strong feeling the beehive is a sauna☺ Relished each Danish cottage! Thank you☺
ReplyDeleteI love that this is both cool/chic and also warm and cozy touches with the cohesive use of color, finish materials and flooring. The eye has an easy time gazing from room to room and there is also an interesting use of pattern in the textiles. Like some others, I would guess the beehive to be a sauna but it will be fun to have the secret unveiled!
