Beautiful Danish christmas inspiration in white and brown

Oh wow. Friday already? Is it me or does December race passed at the speed of, eh hem, Christmas lights?! The final weekend before the big day calls for some beautiful Danish Christmas inspiration, don't you think? This beautiful home was shot for the Oi Soi Oi AW14 collection. I'm loving the natural, rich brown and white tones, pretty trees climbing the stairs, and subtle stars and hearts. Perfect inspiration if you're looking to add some final touches to your home (or just getting started!). All we need now is a little snow!

I love this!

Many of these beautiful decorations are still available at Oi Soi Oi.

Is it just me or are mini Christmas trees popping up everywhere right now?! And all in different forms too - like the paper beauties in this pretty Danish inspiration post, DIY Christmas tree mobiles (available from Fabulous Goose) and the real McCoy in this Norwegian home tour - love them!

I'm also enjoying how it's all about tapping into every corner of the home  - from the bedroom (as seen in this oh so cosy Swedish home),  the bathroom (like in this Danish home) and even the kitchen and home office (seen in my home at Christmas a few years back!).

Let's not forget the outside too. I visited Stockholm last weekend and my brother-in-law had a beautiful Christmas tree with simple white lights in the garden, it looked so pretty in the snow. Here are five outdoor trees I also love:

Colour in the woods
Au natural
Three outside a French country home
Lining the streets of NYC
Doubling up for a warm (yet snowy) welcome

And even lighthouses are getting into the Christmas spirit! Wonderful!

Admittedly it takes time and effort to go all out and despite my best intentions (I did put my tree up nice and early!), I'm not sure where the time has gone? Do you find the same?! But next year....NEXT YEAR..... :)

Have a fabulous couple of days and see you Monday!

PS Don't miss the very exciting give-away this weekend....watch this space!

An elegant, light and airy Swedish home

Hello! I'm so far behind today with everything. It's one of those crazy pre-Christmas days. I've finally taken myself round the corner to a little cafĂ© by the sea to get focused on today's home tour. And what a beauty it is! Recently sold through Bjurfors 'exclusive', the designers at Bybon have made the most of the large spacious rooms, parquet flooring and beautiful period features by adding sheer curtains, soft tones and classic furniture. What lovely home staging,  and what a fabulous apartment?! I think a move to Gothenburg is in order, don't you?!

I feel a little calmer now, how about you?!

A few items I love in this home: hay tray table, Z1 cotton pendant light, IKEA daybed, bent wood chairs, stonewashed linen table cloth, buy made-to-order sheer curtains here, sea grass belly basket.

A few more dreamy white and grey homes (over 100 to be precise - crazy, I know!) squirrelled away in this archive. Enjoy!

Have a wonderful, calm day!

PS Thank you to everyone for entering the give-away to win a fab typography poster from Kortkartellet. The winner has now been announced here.... oh the suspense.... and if it wasn't you, no worries, there's another wonderful pre-Christmas give-away going live shortly (watch this space!).

A cosy cocoon-like Swedish home

As the days get darker and colder here in Sweden it's tempting to stay indoors, light candles and cocoon yourself in a jumble of soft blankets (I'm thinking this one!). Although dark interiors might not be for everyone, there's no denying that the elegant home of Swedish stylist Lotta Agaton evokes the feeling of a cosiness with it's grey walls and ceilings and layers of soft textures. I could quite easily curl up here for the day and read books and magazines - how about you?!

This apartment is just so incredibly striking, trust Lotta Agaton to create such a beautiful space (her last home was pretty great too!)! And full credits to photographer Pia Ulin for capturing it so beautifully too!

Is this your kind of style?

A few items I know and love from Lotta's home: Molecular light (although not featured, I also love this table lamp!). Kaare klint safari chair. Brown sheepskin throw. The rug in the hallway looks like a Gan.

For a similar wall colour try Farrow & Ball dark hues. And there's a whole archive dedicated to 'decorating with grey' here.

If you came here looking for Christmas inspiration try here (there'll be more festive posts to follow this week too!).

Have a wonderful day!

PS it's the last day to enter to win a poster of your choice from Korkartellet - hurry
