My Scandinavian Home in Stylist magazine

Hello! This week My Scandinavian Home blog is featured in Stylist magazine UK (in store now!).  So exciting! You may recognise the main image as one from a post I wrote on Muuto here. It was taken by Swedish photographer Petra Bindel in my neighbour's beautiful home which I featured here.

I hope you like the piece.

Other exciting news is that I have started blogging once a week for Design Collectors (click 'Blog' to access). And of course, my nomination for the The Homies (vote here).

Oh no it's all ME, ME, ME today! Ha! I am just excited. Still I hope there's time to rescue myself - HOW ARE YOU TODAY?! And what Scandinavian designer piece would YOU choose?

Lovely day to YOU all! from....me (errr..)

Quirky Westgarth Hall

This is Westgarth Hall in Australia photographed by the fantastic photographer Sean Fennessy (I've just been looking through his varied portfolio, and was excited to see many of images are for sale as limited edition prints.  I see a possible present idea for my birthday boy....). This very cool home owned by Alpha 60 founders Alex and Georgie Cleary has a few quirky surprises up it's sleeve....spot the piano anyone?!

With kind permission from photographer Sean Fennessy
It's hard to say what I love most about this home; the art,  the large windows, the legs?!  Or perhaps the swimming pool....how I would love to transport myself to the Australian summer and dip my toes in it right now!

Oh and a piano on the ceiling - but of course!

What do you love about this home?

PS vote for me in The Homies (aka the 'Bloscars!') here :)

Finn's cute bedroom

Tonight I'm heading over to visit my friend's newborn baby girl (soooo excited!). In  preparation I thought I'd share this wonderful, calm grey, white and wood nursery designed by Sissy + Marley, a NYC based boutique baby planner and concierge service. So pretty!

Photographer: Marco Ricca for Sissy + Marley via Design Traveller

I love the calm atmosphere! If you're planning a nursery, Sissy + Marley have put together a great 'get the look'. And remember you can always get 15% off items like the fab Eames Armchair RAR (rocking chair), with code MYSCAN here (only the best for our little crumpets!).

And exciting news, Apartment Therapy are holding their annual 'The Homies' blog competition and I've been nominated for 'Best home & design inspiration blog', I can't believe it! Thank you so much to everyone who has voted for little me  :), if you'd like to vote and join in the fun click here.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend (I'm recovering from a day's skiing at Vallåsen here in Skåne yesterday :).

A sustainable Finnish cabin

Yesterday it was so stormy here in Southern Sweden. I nipped around the corner for a coffee and the sea was full of white horses. It was all very exciting! A winter storm calls for a home at one with nature. And this Finnish retreat certainly fits the bill. I have seen the first picture so many times on Pinterest, but never the rest of the home. So here it is, the sustainable Four Cornered House in Virrat, Finland designed by Anu Puustinen and Ville Hara, Avanto Archtiects.

Architects: Avanto Architects Ltd / Ville Hara and Anu Puustinen, Photography: Anders Portman & Martin Sommerschield.

Imagine looking out of the vast windows into the wilderness? Or morning saunas with a vista? And there's that wonderful wood burning stove of course.

If you'd like to read more about this home and the sustainable ethos behind the architecture pop over to This is Paper (word of caution; you'll be stuck there for hours!).

Oh and my friend had a beautiful baby girl yesterday - such wonderful news!! I'm off to Loja Dada now for a little pressie and looking forward to a cuddle this weekend :)

Have a lovely few days and see you Monday!
