16 Beautiful Outdoor Bath and Shower Ideas

Nothing says summer like bathing or showering alfresco, don't you think? Right now, we might not be free to visit somewhere balmy and tropical with luxury showers amongst the crickets - and even cycling to the nearby beach / lake / river is off limits in many countries. But we sure can make the most of what little outdoor space we have. This week I'm dreaming about adding an outdoor shower or bath to our tiny back yard. I haven't run the idea passed Per yet... I need to gather some beautiful inspiration to tantalise him into saying yes first. Here are 16 of my favourite outdoor bath and shower ideas... I hope they might inspire you to move your bathroom outside this summer too!

1. (top picture) The Scandi 'just- back-from-the-beach' vibe

2. (above) The romantic rinse! (love the antique mirror!)

3. Keeping it simple

 4. The walled-garden soak

5. The bathing oasis

6. The scorched Med vibe

7. Rustic simplicity

8. The relaxed old school ritual

9. Tropical rain forest

10. Contemporary minimalism (with a twist) - that vintage chair!

11. The cute romantic bathroom

12. Clean and contemporary

13. Modern Scandi!

 14. Back yard beauty!

15. By the pool plunge (somewhere tropical!)

16. Rustic soak with a view (does it come with the guy I wonder?)

Who needs tropical holidays when you can have one of these beauties in your own backyard? Admittedly some might look a teeny bit out of place here in Malmö (ahem), but there are definitely some ideas worth thinking about!

Do you love the idea of bathing alfresco too? If so, did any of these ideas inspire you?

Here are a few more ideas (just in case you need a little more convincing!):

And if you're ready to go:

Roll on balmy days and soaks alfresco!

A Simple, Relaxed, Happy Family Home With Scandinavian Touches

Oj oj oj! Today's home tour is a real goodie! It's full of soul, interesting details and lovely, rich accent colours like 'muddy puddle' (great name for paint in a children's room, don't you think?!), 'rum caramel' and 'soft maplewood'. Although it's located in West Wales, UK, it has a distinct Scandinavian look and feel thanks to the white washed backdrop and delightful Nordic pieces, which of course, makes my heart sing with joy this grey, rainy Tuesday in Malmö! The simple and relaxed space belongs to Cassie Chung, who has amassed quite a following on instagram thanks to daily updates of her interior and fab wardrobe style! Cassie takes inspiration from books, magazines, Pinterest, travel and blogs to evolve her style and create a wonderful family home which she shares with her husband and three children - Lyssia, Emmy & Mio as well a cat and dog (quite the full house!). Enjoy!

Eye Eye print*, This pendant light* is similar, as is this Kawa chair!

Paint: Dulux, Rum Caramel*

Lisabo desk and Odger chair - both by Ikea

Lucky Boy Sunday Nulle pillowcase, Brown linen bedding*, Ferm Living basket*, IKEA junior bed, print by Pax and Hart
Paint: Dulux muddy puddle

What a truly lovely home! I love how Cassie has filled it with pieces which she has hunted far and wide making the space truly unique.

It also feels full of soul, and truly lived in.

I was really happy to discover a few of those Dulux colours too - I'm totally into brown tones after decorating my bedroom and office.

Is there anything that stands out to you?

For now you can keep up to date with Cassie's interior updates on instagram @casschung - but soon she'll also be launching an online shop too - watch this space!

Other homes I love today: umber and chestnut accents in a lovely Swedish home, a relaxed boho family home on the edge of a desert and a cosy, boho Swedish family home.

Happy Tuesday friends! We're just preparing for the arrival of two very VIP guests today - my Mother and Father from London - and it's my Father's birthday too! Can't wait!

Have a lovely day!

Plants, Books and Wall art in a Boho Berlin Home

Having spent a few wonderful days in Germany this week, I thought we could head down that way on the blog too.  This warm and inviting boho apartment belonging to Ewa Tomko is located in Berlin.

I have visited the city on many occasions and have always marvelled at how it buzzes with creativity. And in her home, Ewa's creativity shines through. I love that there are lots of plants, art, books and photos - but also countless other personal items such as antique clocks, masks and wall hung plates.

Keep a look out for the orange lamps (some vintage, some new) which are something of a micro-trend right now. And then of course, there are her feline friends! How many kitties can you find? Take the tour to find out!

One of my favourite things about Ewa's home is how cosy and relaxed it is. Everything you see is there to be used and enjoyed. The entire living space is truly personal. It's the kind of place you'd step inside and feel instantly at home.

Also, despite bring a relatively small main room - Ewa has ensured plenty of space for her beloved books and also carved out storage in other tight spaces such as built-in to the side of the sofa.

Is there anything that I've missed that you love about Ewa's home?

You can see more pictures over at @ewa_tomko

While in Germany, let's take a peek at some other homes from the past:

Have a happy mid-week - and happy Halloween to you all, will you be dressing up? My girls are dressing up as Medusa and a cowgirl - so much fun!

Little Nicki's happy and relaxed boho home

I thought I'd start the week with a cheerful space full of colourful pieces. Where better than the happy home of Nicole Valentine Don (or 'Little Nicki') a Canadian stylist, blogger and DIYer living in Sydney, Australia? Her home was recently photographed by Lauren Bamford with help from stylist guru Jason Grant (the duo behind this cheerful book) and i was so excited to see the results! Little Nicki's home is a wonderful mix of flea market finds, antiques, Mexican textiles - and of course there's those plants. What a great home tour to start the week with, don't you think?!

Homeowner: Nicole Valentine Don. Photographer: Lauren Bamford. Stylist: Jason Grant.

What a truly unique home? What strikes me is just how instinctive her style is, and it makes me smile. Is there anything that stands out to you?

For a similiar look try: Half moon garland,  one of these hand jewellery stands which you canthen personalise with paint. I love this Boucherouite rug and these vintage arrows. A wonderful handmade Moroccan wedding blanket.

Other lovely, vibrant homes I've seen with a similar look (hey, it's Monday, we all need to look for colour where we can!) - include this boho Mexican home, a relaxed Florida home and a cheerful Brooklyn space.

Have a wonderful start to the week!

PS If you haven't entered yet, don't miss the chance to win 250 quid to spend in Nest.co.uk here!

A beautiful and unique bohemian farmhouse

Do you have days when everything happens so sloooow that you're at least two hours behind all day?! Admittedly it didn't help that I had a brainstorming session for my book launch with a few of my favourite creative friends last night  - which of course required, um, refreshments. Anyhow, I've finally got it together, and I'm actually very proud of myself as this is one extremely fab home tour. Boho style has been rocking the interior world for a while now, but Louise and Matthijs have put their own spin on it in their beautiful late 19th century Dutch farmhouse in the village of Ermelo. The space, captured by Barbara Groen, has been decorated with a blend of Scandinavian, rustic and ethnic style, and is teeming with items find on their travels. Let's take a tour...

Photography: Barbara Groen (shared with kind permission). Styling: Marieke de Geus. Found via VTWonen and (My) Unfinished Home with thanks.

What an inspiring space don't you think?

Get the look: Leather Moroccan ottoman / pouf, Adesso Atlas Floor Lamp, (also seen in Genevieve's home), large round jute rug,  source tie dye cushions here. I love this extremely chunky grey knit blanket.

More extremely cool boho homes include a retreat in Marseille, a beautiful Mexican home by the sea, and the home of a florist. Loving the relaxed vibe!

Other links from around the web today:

How great is this cork wall?

We're seeing more and more old school bathrooms - what do you make of this rose quartz / black tile combo

Bring nature indoors for the day with this simple yet pretty DIY idea.

Love this blue cabinet against the brass.

Living in Sweden it would be rude not to love clogs - which I do! I'm all over this source of clog heaven!

Speaking of Sweden, it's been snowing all day here (another reason for my slow morning) - I'm waiting for it to slow-up so I can go out on a cabin hunt - isn't this one pretty?!

Have a lovely day!
