Tour the Beautiful St Oaks Studio by 'Our Food Stories'

The girls behind Our Food Stories have done it again. Those of you who’ve been following MSH for a while will remember the Berlin flat and country retreat, derelict classroom that became a  beautiful kitchen and even a charming house in Sweden. More recently, Laura and Nora have been busy renovating St Oak apartments near Berlin, and have just completed a beautiful 200-square metre (2150- square foot) studio. 

Their signature style is unmistakable — richly patinated walls, brass fittings, and incredible cabinetry that always steals my heart. As keen foodies, the kitchen is always at the centre of their projects, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Made from Frama CPH and Kvänum units, it has that old-world feel with a modern twist. I’m especially smitten with the glass-fronted pantry — how beautiful (and handy) is that?

The open-plan space also features two striking green Italian sofas by Tachinni which rest on a textured Cappelen dimyr rug, a light-filled dining area, and a bathroom with a very cool wooden bathtub from Michor (how I'd love to put this to the test!). And there’s even a balcony where you can soak up the summer sun.

It certainly has me dreaming of a weekend away in this holiday home: flitting about, relaxing, and using it as a base to explore the surrounding area (I hear there’s a lake nearby that’s perfect for swimming!) - maybe a day in Berlin (such a fantastic city, have you been?).

Beautiful! I’m always amazed by how they manage to renovate so many spaces — each one unmistakably with their signature style, yet with its own unique character. I also love how they source distinctive pieces, like the sofa and that incredible wooden bath — it’s such fun to see something a little different.

Scandinavian Summer Escape: Stay in This Lovely Liseleje Cottage by the Sea

I often get emails asking for tips on places to visit and where to stay in Scandinavia — and I’m always happy to help! As you might have noticed, I even enjoy scouring the web for beautiful holiday rentals. After all, for those of us who are passionate about design, where we stay is just as important as the adventure itself.

Today, I have a real gem in Denmark to share with you. Owned by Henrik Walentin, this charming thatched cottage in Liseleje is where tradition and character meet in perfect harmony. Every room is thoughtfully curated, creating a space that feels both personal and inspiring. What really stood out to me is the use of colour — it’s subtle enough to feel calm and restful, yet brings just the right amount of energy and vibrancy to each space.

The garden is lovely, but it’s the sunroom that really captures the magic (as you’ll know from the homes I often feature here!). It’s the perfect spot to read a book, play games, or enjoy a meal bathed in natural light — even when the skies are grey.

Liseleje itself is a delightful town to explore, with winding lanes, local markets, and — best of all — a beautiful white sandy beach just a short stroll away. Henrik tells me there are still a couple of weeks available this summer, although you might need to be quick!

A Look Inside a Cosy Off-Grid Cabin Escape in Tasmania

Do any of you work on Teams? I had a call this morning with clients scattered across the globe – some of us basking in European summer, faces glowing, matcha lemonades in hand. Then there was one fabulous client beaming in from the southern hemisphere: woolly beanie, wrapped in a blanket, cat on lap, visibly shivering. I recoiled in confusion – until I remembered it’s the middle of winter down there. The mind boggles.

So, this post is dedicated to you cosy southerners – those of you lighting fires, leaning into the layered life, and hopefully escaping Teams meetings for at least a little while (even if your clients are cool as cucumbers).

And if you’re lucky enough to be in Tasmania right now? Let me point you in the direction of Camp Nowhere.

Tucked away on Yingina / Great Lake in Tasmania’s Central Highlands, this once-humble fisherman’s shack is now a beautifully rustic, open-plan retreat. From every corner, including the bathtub, you’ve got views of forest and distant water. Nature’s always in reach here. Even the snug bed nook has a view of the roaring fire and the ever-changing world beyond the windows.

It’s also full of relaxed, thoughtful details: a cute little fish sketched on the wall, a nod to its laidback lakeside roots, and a gentle reflection of Tasmania’s effortlessly chilled-out vibe.

So if you’re craving stillness, a crackling fire, and a place where you’re never far from the trees (or the view) – this might just be your kind of nowhere (it certainly is mine!). 

How lovely is this place? So calm, so inviting.

I’ve got such a soft spot for bed nooks like this – we have one in our little cabin too, and I sleep like a log in it. There’s just something about being tucked away, fire flickering in view.
