A Malmö home teeming with design classics

Some weeks I struggle to find beautiful Scandinavian inspired home tours to share. Other weeks they seem to fall into my lap. This week is definitely the latter - I'm so excited by the three posts I've shared already this week (here, here and here), do you find the same when you're blogging?! Today I've found another exciting space! This apartment is based here in Malmö, Sweden (who I might add, qualified for Champions League last night - amazing! Heja Malmö!). The space is teeming with real design classics (more of which below) and the pink peonies add just the right amount of colour to the otherwise monochrome space. Lovely!

So - the design classics I was talking about. I spy the Knoll Diamond arm chair, Eames DSW chairs and Tom Dixon Copper Shade light in the sitting room / dining area. By Lassen Kubus Bowl and Tom Ford coffee table book on the side table. Design House Stockholm Work Light and CH24 Wishbone chairs in the kitchen. Er, what else? Can you see anything I've missed?  Feel free to add anything you love in the comment section below!

For a beautiful vase I'm loving the Klong Äng right now. It recently won best interior accessory in the Elle Decoration Swedish Design Awards 2014. It's top of my birthday wishlist!

Have a lovely day!

Quirky interior inspiration for the weekend

I do love to show home tours (you can tell by the hundreds of Swedish, DanishNorwegian, Finnish and International homes in my blog archive!) but just occasionally I come across images from a company which are so beautiful and inspiring that I can't resist sharing them here too. Take Olsson & Jensen's autumn/winter 2014 lifestyle images for example. Olsson & Jensen is a Swedish company, based up the road in Helsingborg, selling vintage furniture and items for the home in Sweden and beyond. They also seem to be specialists in creating incredible spaces! There's something unique and quirky about all of these rooms - whether it's the mix of contemporary and old, over-sized pendant lamps or oil painting gallery walls. I'm taking my inspiration from here this weekend.

Olsson & Jensen

I would love to re-create the sitting room in my home!Anything in particular you'll be adding to your Pinterest boards?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

The perfect Norwegian home for a summer's day

When the sun shines in Sweden I feel the need to spend the entire day outside (I guess this isn't the case when you live somewhere warm and sunny all year round?!). But there is an exception to this. The Norwegian home of blogger and photographer Elisabeth Heier is one of those spaces where you could easily flit between inside and outside on a beautiful day, depending on your mood. Not only is the home bright and airy but it also has several different places you can sit and relax with a book or magazine - window nook, dining table, outdoor terrace....and still enjoy the warmth of natural sunlight and the nature beyond. I could spend a summer's day here could you?

Elisabeth Heier with kind permission

Elisabeth is such a wonderful photographer and her blog is almost entirely made up of pictures she has taken of her own home. So impressive!

See previous posts from her home herehere and here.

I spy a few classic items I love: Knoll Diamond chair and Eames side chair DSR.

I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

A Swedish home with one very cool sofa

This Swedish home is positively teeming with fab designer pieces from the Knoll Bertoia Diamond chair, Arne Jacobsen 7 chair and Hans Wegner Wishbone (or 'Y') chairs to the the oh so beautiful cognac coloured Charles le Corbusier LC3 sofa which serves as a very cool centre-piece. I also love how adding a simple bunch of peonies brightens up the entire space. I bought a pale pink bunch last week and they've put a smile on my face ever since (not to mention added a touch of spring to my vintage drinks trolley). Is there anything you love in particular about this home?

Two other very cool yet simple to update features include the bird light bulb cover and the beautiful linen bedding in soft grey and white.

I'm really excited to introduce a new sponsor today - Dorayaky sells beautifully crafted handbags by creative duo Aurora Pérez and Fernando Albero. As a girl with simple taste I love the Nicole tote, but how cool are all their patterned totes and clutch bags?! I also love the MA-Z range for storage - perfect for a Scandinavian inspired home don't you think? For more inspiration and behind the scenes action check out the wonderful Dorayaky blog.

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

A truly inspiring Swedish home in monochrome

I promised to come back after yesterday's 'party' with a fabulous home tour. And here it is! A beautiful monochrome Swedish space. I'm not sure if it's the white floor, the rustic touches or the blend of vintage and designer but I think this home is the perfect inspiration for the weekend, don't you?!

Shoot stylist: Jenny Hjalmarson Boldsen, Photography Hannah Lemholt (kind permission). For Elle. Via Coco Lapine.

Any rooms which inspire you in particular? I never thought I would but I love the big black rug (from here) in the bedroom!

Quick round up of other the items: Bertoia Diamond chair, Flos 265 wall light, Frama E27 pendant light, Clear storage boxes by Muji (these make amazing jewellery boxes too), Bertoia side chair , rug by Private 0204 and white linen bedding.

I hope you have a wonderful, inspiring weekend! See you Monday.

Splashes of yellow with pretty pastels

There's no denying that Muuto is one of my favourite Nordic brands. They are always spot on with the latest trends, and I love the designs and colours. This selection of images were styled for Muuto by my neighbour's company All The Way To Paris (ATWTP) (you can see my neighbour Petra's beautiful former home here). I'd like a new house just so that I can buy the huge pink Muuto sofa (do you think my husband would agree to that?!).

For more pastel inspiration you could try my 'decorating with pastels label'....I love pale pink with yellow it's such a great way to update the home for spring don't you think?

For other homes with splashes of yellow (the colour de jour it seems) you might want to check out this and this home.

Would you dare go for a bold sofa?

Have a lovely day!

A black and white home with a touch of pink

Hello and happy Thursday! It was a while ago I visited the fabulous Swedish estate agents Fantastic Frank and admired their wonderful styling and photography. This home stood out for it's colour palette (black, white, dusty pink) and the selection of fabulous lighting and furniture (the majority of which can be found at Nest), plus a few quirky touches.....

I have bedding in that beautiful cassis rose colour and absolutely love it! The thing I don't have though are those feet - so fab and the stairs are such a great place for them (although I'm ot sure how long they'd last in that position in my home?!).

The Christmas tree in this post would work perfectly in this home, as would these decorations. So pretty!

If you're hankering after more Christmas inspiration for last minute inspiration you can scroll through ALL my Christmas posts from this year and last year here! Ho ho ho!

Have a lovely day!

The beautiful apartment of a Swedish interior designer

Hej du! I'm blogging from further up the coast today in Höganäs (home to Lily & Oscar (remember this beautiful cottage?) and Magasin 36 which I fully intend on visiting!). But before I do I had to share this incredible home with you which is currently for sale. It's owned by Swedish interior designer Elin Kickén (and I've heard Instagram extroadinaire (@elinkicken) and teeming with fabulous pieces. Take a peek....

Elin Kicken, Vastenhem via Husligheter and Stil Inspiration with thanks.
I love her style, how about you?

For other items: Muuto The Dots Coat Hanger, Tom Dixon Copper Shade light and etch tea light (Nest). The Eames DAW, Eames RARThonet 209, Thonet 214, (Design Collectors: 15% discount with code MYSCAN).  Kubus bowl By Lassen. Linen bedding from The Linen Works (I love the Cassis colour). Long-haired sheepskin chair cushions from here. What have I missed?
