A white and yellow children's bedroom

Hello, and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Is it just me or was it near impossible to get up this morning? Last night my man and I wrote down a few plans of what we'd like to do in 2014. Out of a list of 10 we agreed on a couple of things - we'd both like to do a hut to hut three day hike in Norway (any tips?) and we both agreed on a sailing holiday in the Stockholm archipelagos so it's looking like a Scamdinavian summer, the rest is back to the drawing board! Of course I have lots of plans for the house too. One room that's destined for a make-over is my little girls' room. Here's my inspiration (from Maiike Koster).

Maiike Koster, My Deer

It's very white, which of course I love but I know my girls will want more colour. So this is merely a pipe dream. But so beautiful don't you think? Clever Maiike!

Get the look: Apple papple print, cardboard play house, sheep skin rug. Cool cushions. Beautiful children's clothing to match the beautiful room!

Do you remember Maiike's beautiful home which I showed a few weeks ago?

Have a lovely Monday!

PS Do you have 'must-do' plans for 2014?

A danish home decked out for Christmas

I am not sure this stunning home of 38 year of Danish photographer, stylist, and director  Mette Wotkjær  and her family needs much of an introduction, save to say it's teeming with inspiring Christmas decorating ideas using washi tape, pom poms, paper stars and an alternative tree. Just add snow and a roaring fire!

Mette Wotkjær with kind permission. Femina.

I love this home. I could totally move in and celebrate Christmas here, how about you?!

Get the look? Paper stars, wood stars, pretty gift wrapping, washi tape, pom poms, sheepskin rugs, HAY tray side table, Eames DAW chairs (15% discount with code MYSCAN), black AJ floor lamp (10% discount with code SCANDI-HOME) .

A beautiful, classic Swedish apartment

Hello, how was your weekend? It's getting so cold here now BRRRRR and my hibernation instinct is starting to set in. This makes a cosy home even more important don't you think?! I thought I'd start the week with this very classic and beautiful Swedish apartment. Light wood floors, white walls, light coloured furniture, a white and light grey colour teme and there's that firepace (kakelugn)  in the bedroom again (imagine reading the papers in bed on a Sunday next to a roaring fire? Love that!). I could live here, could you?

Alvhem
I spy the Eames DSR and Thonet 214 chairs (15% off with code MYSCAN). The Cross blanket. Visit BLACK SHEEP (WHITE LIGHT) for beautiful sheepskin rugs. The armchair and blanket are both IKEA (I think). For beautiful prints try Silke BondeElina Gardin or OHMYHOME.

You can see more pictures of this beautiful home over at Alvhem. For more inspiration on white and light grey Swedish homes check out this and this - oj oj oj så fint! and actually, even my bedroom!

Beautiful Dutch monochrome spaces by My Deer

Although not Scandinavian, Dutch homes have been featuring on my blog a lot lately (here and here), simply because I keep coming across so many fab ones! These pictures are from the portfolio of Dutch concept, interior design and styling company My Deer. The spaces below reflect the My Deer vision: to transform spaces into inspiring concepts, amazing creatives and sophisticated spaces. So beautiful!

My Deer

Thank you so much to Maiike for sending me the pictures, there's so much inspiration here! White floors are certainly number one my hit list (one day....). And we all love a little monochrome? But I particularly love the use of wall space. How about you?

I'm finally succumbing to a Christmas post tomorrow (the first day of advent is only 10 days away after all) with a beautiful Swedish home tour all decked out in the festive spirit so if you're looking to get a little Christmas inspiration come and join me over a cup of coffee.

Before I head off I'm really excited to introduce a new sponsor: Urban Trait who sell amazingly cool watches. I'm the proud owner of this watch - I haven't worn a timepiece for years and now I wouldn't be without it, it's my latest piece of statement jewellery. Other watches I love are these by Daniel Wellington  (especially this one!) and for something a bit cool this watch. Urban Trait are offering 10% discount with code MYSCANDIHOME until December 15th - perfect for a Christmas present!

Have a lovely day!

A white and green apartment with a relaxed vintage vibe

I'm not sure if it's the green and white colour scheme or the dark wood vintage touches or perhaps the complete mix, but there's something super relaxed about this apartment in Södermalm, Stockholm. Like yesterday's home it's a teeny weeny living area of  just 50 metres square. In order to create two bedrooms the owners have combined the kitchen and sitting room area (if you're struggling to get a grip on the plan you can see it here). There's something very cosy about a sofa in the kitchen and a fireplace in the bedroom don't you think?

What do you think?

Have a lovely Tuesday!

The stunning home of a dutch photographer

Every now again I stumble across an extra special home and this is one of them. It belongs to Dutch photographer Dana van Leeuwen and her family and is situated just outside Amsterdam. Dana and her husband bought the land and demolished the existing house before building this beautiful home. A brave move which has certainly paid off. Not only do I love the way the couple have decorated the space with white and concrete floors and muted tones (with the odd splash of colour) but I also love the way Dana has photographed it for Est magazine.

Dana van Leeuwen with kind permission. Inspired by a post from the Style Files with thanks

What a fantastic home don't you think? You can read more about it  in the latest edition of Est magazine  and take a look through Dana's incredible portfolio here.

Spot the little kitty cat?

More devine Dutch home inspiration here, here and here!

Have a lovely day. Oh and please bring back the summer so we can throw open our doors and pad around the garden bare foot again please!

A beautiful converted barn

Hello....nearly the weekend -yay! I promised a surprise today but unfortunately it won't be ready until tomorrow, I'm really sorry! I hope the inspiration from this beautiful house makes it up to you until the project's ready. This converted barn appeared on the Swedish TV show Hustoppen last year and appeared on the lovely Purple Area (a fellow Skåne blog) today. I'm in love with the white wood paneling and beams, concrete floor, little nooks, vintage furniture and linen covered sofas. How about you?

Via Purple Area

Have a lovely Thursday and see you tomorrow for the surprise....
