A cool vintage inspired space in Stockholm

There's something strange...in the neighbourhood. Well actually, just on this blog. The night fairy (aka Ana at Blog Milk) has been in while we were asleep and moved things around a little. Even I got a shock this morning and I was the one that instigated it! Do you think you can get used to the change? I hope so! Something that's not strange though is this fantastic apartment in Stockholm. The open plan living area with it's array of vintage items is incredibly cool. I love the graphical style and mix of light grey and wood.  How about you?

Pretty cool don't you think?

I love the way the shoes are stored on open shelving in the hallway. Although I know this is not everyone's cup of tea - what's your verdict? Do you remember this and this post showing ways to use your shoes to decorate your home (or there's even displaying shoes up the stairs on on picture frames?!) If ever there was an excuse to buy a fabulous pair of heels.

Something I'm starting to see creep into homes is the floral sofa like in the sitting room here - a throw back to the eighties and nineties. A big trend for 2015?

A few items I see and love: the pendant light over the dining table looks similar to the Louis Poulsen in white. The dining chairs are similar to the 209 Thonet chair. Source vintage items such as the bar stools on Etsy

Have a lovely day!

  2. I think it looks like a home in an IKEA catalogue. That's not a bad thing, but it just stuck me.

Like the new blog look, but I miss your pic!

    1. Interesting. I guess because IKEA always fill every space to show all their products and practical solutions? Or? I kind of get what you mean from that perspective. PS My picture will be returning soon-....thanks :).....it's just while Ana is making the last changes and then my mug will be back up!

  3. There are some elements I really like, i.e. the grey rug underneath the dining table. And the coffee tables! This apartment looks like a very social place where you could just show up to have a cup of tea and a natter :-)

Re the shoe display: I am not too keen - but probably because in our house there are too many dirty scuffed trainers and pink wellington boots size 26 and 31 lingering around... a total eye sore when on display, so there are well and truly tucked away...

  4. Love the grey white and wood combo. Do you know where the grey rugs are from? Is it a grey and white stripe. Cant quite see in the picture!
