A monochrome Gothenburg apartment

Hello! How's your week going?! Mine's going great - thanks to a surprise parcel in the post yesterday. Firstly I love receiving surprise packages don't you? And secondly it contained a beautiful interior coffee table book called Modern Rustic (pictures here)- double happy! Today's home tour of a newly renovated Gothenburg apartment is anything but modern rustic, but it is lovely all the same. There's no stopping the black kitchen cabinets right now, it's definitely the hottest design trend in Scandinavia right now, that I see anyway?! Enjoy the tour....

A few items I recognise: String shelves, Tripp Trapp chair, Eames side chair and Elihu the Elephant clock. Muuto shelving, Eames house bird, IKEA striped Stockholm rug

Anything you love in particular about this home?

One hundred and three Scandinavian inspired black and white home tours here, you're welcome!

Have a lovely day!

  2. Beautiful space, I like the monochromatic theme with a few pops of colors here and there. Black kitchen cabinets look beautiful, close contender to my favorite white. I like the kitchen subway tile back-splash.

The tiles in the kitchen combined with the lights are looking great, again my favourite rack system in living room..and bedroom with fireplace? That's love on the first sight!

  7. America may take awhile to catch up on the black cabinet look, but with all that white subway tile, I quite like it. Love how sunny this apartment is!

  8. I wish that I knew where the low, white drawers in the third picture come from. Anyone know? I've been searching for something similar (in Europe).

    1. The drawers are from Ikea's Stolmen series. (That's the name in N.America anyway.)

  9. Superb blog! Your posted pictures are extremely beautiful and very eye-catching. Yes of course, I could live there. Before 2 months ago, I moved to Germany with my family. It is one of my favorite cities .So I sifted here. My father bought an apartment in Berlin. Now I want to decorate my home like this. So thank you very much for sharing this wonderful blog.
