my scandinavian home: Ray a drop of golden....orange juice

Ray a drop of golden....orange juice

Wednesday, 17 April 2013

Nothing brightens up an apartment more than pops of bright colours against a white background. And if you don't have anything bright, here's a styling idea....orange juice! Genius!

Notice how I am starting to sneak in a few outdoor spaces into the posts too; if you're in the northern hemisphere and like me, the garden / balcony is becoming an important spring styling area so all inspiration is welcome (check out the use of rag rugs to add warmth to an outdoor space).

I spy: the ArchitectMade bird and Rosendahl monkey in the office. The fabric on the chair (these bold patterned armchairs seem to be popular at the moment, did you see the one in yesterday's post too?) is from Svenskt Tenn and Eames side chairs (15% off with code MYSCAN from Design Collectors). Find beautiful rag rugs here on Etsy.

Are there any quick and easy tips you can share for an outdoor space?

  1. I always enjoy reading your posts and watching these beautiful spaces.:) I must say I was thinking about outdoor spaces and looking for posts about them because I'm trying to decorate my own balcony and could not find a proper inspiration. I'm hoping to find inspiration here :)

  6. I have a metal baker's rack with three shelves on my deck waiting to be filled with potted plants. Still too chilly here in New Jersey, United States but it should be warm enough in about a month. Love your blog!

  7. I love the open feel of this apartment! It's designed well, without being cluttered, and leaves enough "white space" for my eyes to rest.

  16. Hehehe- the orange juice really does add something. Lemons and limes in a clear bowl or vase are always good too.
