Decorating for little people

It's been a while since I have posted anything on children's spaces. I think they're the most fun room of all because there are so many cute things around and little people keep growing which gives you the excuse to keep re-decorating, perrrrfect! One of my absolutely favourite Swedish online shops is Mokkasin. I love their customisable letters, for writing cute messages on the wall, ooo and check out the confetti. This shop is utterly gorgeous!

See you there!

Have a great 'lilla lördag'!

  1. All the pics are so sweet! I love the customized letters too. Funny how simply reading words like HAPPY ... SMILE .. JOY .. illuminate those feelings. I have large letters in my home office that read BELIEVE (simply makes me smile!). Have a GREAT day!

    1. I know!! The words they have chosen in the top pic are particularly lovely! I think in my office I'd need the words 'WORK' to remind myself to stop messing around!! :)

  2. The customized letters are awesome! I saw that they have super cute owl pillows on the website in addition to the owl lap you showed. Cute shop!

  3. That lampshade is absolutely divine. I was thinking about making something similar for our little girl but I thought the lack of solid shade would make the light a little too harsh. Do you use an energy saving bulb or a dimmer switch? I was going to build something like this as an outer case around a small shade which would soften the light.

    1. Hi Delia! This styling was by the guys at Mokkasin (worth checking out their beautiful shop!). However, you can buy all kinds of different light bulbs to fit every purpose. I always use energy saving light bulbs and in my children's room I use dimmer switches as they're a little afriad of the dark :)If you're worried about glare or unflattering lighting you can also source bulbs with frosting. Many people in Sweden are buying old lamp shades from flea markets and charity shops and stripping the fabric off them. You can then decorate the lamp shade wire, for example by adding little colourful birds, butterflies and flowers.
